  4. 4

Frequently asked questions

Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
No. This signing tool runs entirely in your browser — your PDF and your signature never leave your device and we never see them. You can verify it in your browser’s network tab: no files are transferred.
Is the sign PDF tool really free?
Yes — completely free, with no watermark, no sign-up and no daily limit. Sign as many PDFs as you like, right here.
Can I draw my signature or use an image?
Both. Draw your signature with a mouse or finger on the pad, or upload a signature image (a transparent PNG looks best). Either way you can move and resize it on the page before applying.
How do I place the signature exactly where I want it?
After adding your signature it appears on the page preview. Drag it to position it, and drag the corner handle to resize. Pick the page you want first if your document has more than one.
Is a signature added this way legally valid?
This tool places a visible signature image on the page — the same as signing a printout by hand and scanning it back. It does not add a cryptographic digital certificate. For many everyday documents a visible signature is enough; for formal e-signature workflows with an audit trail, use ScanPix document requests.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. It works in the browser on Android and iPhone — open your PDF, draw your signature with your finger, place it and download the signed file. No app required.

Need signatures back from others?

This tool adds your own signature to a PDF. To send a document and collect a signed copy back — tracked and organised, without email attachments — ScanPix document requests and e-signatures do exactly that in a private workspace.
